Privacy Policy

1. The short version

NuetriLens collects only what we need to run the app: your account info, the food you scan, and the diet preferences you tell us about. We don't sell your data, we don't share it with advertisers, and you can export or delete everything at any time from the app.

2. What we collect

  • Account info - name, email, profile photo when you sign in with Google, Apple, or email/password. Stored in Firebase Authentication.
  • Profile - region, currency, sex, height, weight, date of birth (used to compute calorie targets), and your diet preferences (allergens, avoid list, custom tags).
  • Scans - the food images you submit, our AI analysis output, and your confirmation (whether you ate it, portion size, meal slot).
  • Steps - daily step count from your phone's pedometer (Android only, with your explicit permission).
  • Device info - Firebase Installation ID, app version, OS version. Used for crash reporting (Firebase Crashlytics) and force-update checks.
  • Push token - Firebase Cloud Messaging token, so we can send streak nudges and the weekly digest.
  • Payments - when you subscribe, Cashfree handles payment data. We only store the subscription state (active / cancelled / past-due) and the masked order ID.

3. What we DON'T collect

  • Your contacts
  • Your location (other than the country you pick at onboarding)
  • Your photos beyond the ones you explicitly submit as scans
  • Any analytics from third-party advertisers
  • Your browsing history outside the app

4. How we use it

  • Scans go to Google's Gemini API for AI analysis. Per Google's terms, scans submitted via paid API tier are NOT used for model training.
  • Your daily nutrition totals are computed from scans you confirm as eaten and shown on your home screen.
  • Diet preferences are passed to the AI so verdicts are personalised (e.g. flag dairy items if you're vegan).
  • Anonymous, aggregated analytics (e.g. "X% of users use barcode scan vs photo") drive product decisions.

5. Where it's stored

Everything lives on Cloudflare R2 (food images) and Render-managed Postgres (all other data), both in the Singapore region. Encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3).

6. Your rights (DPDP / GDPR / CCPA)

  • Export - tap Profile → Privacy → Export my data in the app. We send a zip with everything we have on you within 30 days.
  • Delete - tap Profile → Privacy → Delete my account. We retain financial records for legal compliance (5–7 years depending on your jurisdiction) but everything else is purged within 30 days.
  • Correct - edit your profile any time from the app.
  • Withdraw consent - turn off notifications, steps tracking, or specific permissions in your device settings.

7. Children

NuetriLens is not for children under 13. Our onboarding requires a date of birth and we refuse accounts where the user would be under 13.

8. Changes

We'll update this page when material changes happen and notify you in the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms.
